James Mirarchi – 1 poem

KITSCH!

I want a poetry sloppy joe – minus the weirdness!
I want a mantel with “Poetryman” action figures – minus the weirdness!
I want to meet a poet who looks like Brad Pitt in Troy – minus the weirdness!
I want a pound of baloney poetry – minus the weirdness!
I want that “Poetry is Inspiring” wallpaper for my room – minus the weirdness!
I want to take a really hip poetry-themed cruise – minus the weirdness!
I want the lactose-intolerant to get tummy aches from my poetry – minus the weirdness!
I want Britney Spears to personally hand me an MTV poetry award – minus the weirdness!
I want all my poems to be body fluidless – minus the weirdness!
I want all my poems to end happily – minus the weirdness!

NOW let me go watch Dancing with the Stars!

James Mirarchi grew up in Queens, New York. In addition to his poetry collections, “Venison” and “Dervish,” he has written and directed short films, which have played at festivals. About gobbet

gobbet is a literary magazine dedicated to publishing the very best experimental poetry and prose. Intellectual perversity and explorations of dark themes are positively encouraged. We are only interested in work that is progressively experimental. We want to see risks, and we want to see them pay. No previously published work. Prose should not be longer than 1000 words. There are always exceptions. Send 3-5 poems. Include a short bio. Send submissions to gobbetmag@hotmail.co.uk Work will be published every 5-10 days. We also intend to publish anthologies of selected work published in gobbet. We will do our best to reply promptly. Most submissions will receive a decision within a month.
