Jessie Janeshek – 2 poems

Llamar o tocar a la puerta part deux

It’s psychodrama
she cries paternoster

                                                touching my left breast
                                    wrong bank                  pride side

            sucking off donkeys
            show me your right.

Singing this out                                                feels like motel
wood on the water                                          need in the wall

finding a home in the rhetoric bead
                                                            penetrate echoes          posthumous red

and may god save her torso
                                                                                    before you’re in charge

Jezebel Writes of Guilt
                        (after Angela Carter)

            amber candelabra
            birth magic                   wormed over

            sympathetic                 closet drama
                        matchmakers killed

            proud behind               blind screens
                        unplugged eclipse
            spitting light

                                                The next moon threw up
                                                a kid on the roof

                                                feminine civet
                                                not wanting her life

                                                washed by a burning.
                                                Show me your wolf

                                    chimed the raped butterpot
                                    ocelots clawing. Anglophobes prospered.
