Uche Nduka – 2 poems

For Which Weight

from boxers to flippers to pitchers.
courtyard of Satchmo. do not dump
anything here. the nightiest appeal.
foot to foot because a crouch soon
becomes a lie. i am scripting tinfoil
while spiders breakdance above your head.
three flights up. i wish i had your endurance.
preferring hairy snatch in homage. the city
stretched inside an ice cube.
for sake of jetzheit
Mona Lisa pulls up her dress.
take your jumbo jet out of my gumbo.
let’s go get amaretto.
back & forth with each other sex doggie-style.
wedge     stucco      silvershed. one more step
into Neptune. to the other
side of what shell & skin
hold together.
huge is our ration of the eternal.
wind pushing a pelican seawards.
knowledge is solar.
altho prosperity, altho homing drawers.
concepts are not enough
while summer studies us.
take me with you to the city between
your breasts. knowledge is lunar.
a path goes electric. writ out of
shadow. so far the road is operatic.
this Irish departure.
thorn of plenty.
blush of strawberry in the grate.
but the balcony
where i wrote my poems in Bucharest.

Away We Go

bar grilles.  terebinths.
corruption detonated in your
brain. beauty got stuck in
your throat.
from shroud to the wink
of a wanker. opted to be
you want to shit in english. diffidence
in a bow leg. known you
knower you.
you have to be out of
it to be in it. a love
gets made but it is never
made exactly the same
way twice.
a dirty lens can throw a punch.
there is a tree
singing inside a bird.
your window or ours? beercoda.
the bunker in your pages
& whatever blasts next.
& i was to give a concert
to open your legs.
the chair leapt
from me the
guitar leapt from
the chair.
to you thinking & smoking
are one. stroking
a truth. change your
shirt before you change your mind.
